Diplomatico rum has a nice dark color. The smell is a little harsh. Trying it on the rocks I notice it has quite the bite up front.
It has a really good flavor but too much of a bite for me to drink straight up.
Diplomatico rum works really well mixed with the Pepsi One.
It is really good, and extremely smooth. The soda really brings out the great flavor. When comparing it to Zaya 12 year, this has a much spicier bolder flavor than Zaya.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a different flavor in their rum and coke.
Before trying Diplomatico rum, I was a little concerned about the lack of an age of the rum. I am always a little leery of that. After trying it straight on the rocks…wow…it has a strong bite with a heavy flavor behind it. Behind that initial bite, you can really taste the richness of the rum.
I don’t really like this rum straight, but it would be a great topper for a boat drink.
I have a completely different take on it after sampling it mixed with Coke, it’s way smooth. You can really taste the sweetness. Compared with Zaya 12 year this has much more of a kick and it isn’t as fruity.
